FAQ
How does the partnership work? Do we earn a commission on licenses?
No commissions — this isn’t a referral program. You keep the client relationship, the ERP project and the e-commerce configuration in Odoo, and you bill all of it as your own work.
What we take on is the part that would otherwise force you to hire and retain specialist UI/UX designers and JavaScript developers: the design and the frontend build. You get a premium e-commerce delivery to sell in-house, without carrying a frontend team on your payroll.
Can my in-house developers edit the frontend and add components?
Not in the current model. We deliver the design and the frontend build full-service, which is how we can guarantee speed, stability and clean communication with Odoo – and how we keep you free of specialist frontend capacity entirely.
We are evaluating what opening the platform to partner developers would look like, and it is a conversation we’re happy to have. For now the focus is on delivering the visual layer as a finished product.
A client uses custom or OCA modules that touch e-commerce data - how do we handle that?
The environment needs normalizing. Modules that only drive internal ERP processes and never surface on the shop stay exactly as they are, untouched. But data created by those modules that has to reach the storefront needs mapping onto the standard e-commerce structures INODEO exposes.
That analysis and migration sits with you, and it is good news commercially: it is consulting and development work you scope, deliver and invoice directly.
If a client needs a fully custom e-commerce feature, who builds it?
Either of us, agreed per project. INODEO is built on a multi-layer architecture where the top layer is reserved exclusively for client specific code.
That means core functionality and the API can be extended safely without breaking updatability – so a custom feature today doesn’t turn into an upgrade problem in two years.
How long does it take to onboard my consultant or developer on INODEO's Odoo modules?
Short, because the scope is narrow. Neither of them has to learn the frontend — that stays with us. What they learn is our Odoo modules: how to install them, configure the shop in the backend and map the client’s data.
For a consultant that is backend configuration they already recognize from Odoo, so most are productive after a single project. Full documentation is available to implementation partners at docs.inodeo.com.
Who supports the end client - us or you?
You do. As their Odoo partner you are the client’s primary support and the relationship stays yours; we have no interest in getting between you.
We sit behind you and provide direct technical support to your team. From the client’s side, the delivery is yours.
What happens when a new major Odoo version comes out?
Upgrades split the same way implementations do. On the Odoo side we provide migration scripts that move our modules, data structures and shop configuration automatically, and you run them.
On the frontend we don’t upgrade the old storefront in place — that would drag legacy code into the new version. We deploy the current storefront and carry the client’s design and specific features into it, so they end up with every improvement rather than a patched version of what they had.
Should the client's Odoo run on Odoo.sh, or do you recommend something else?
We recommend a dedicated VPS. Odoo.sh enforces strict limits on external API requests, and a storefront reading live data will run into them.
A VPS sized for the project gives you control over performance tuning and lets you scale the server to the shop’s actual load — which matters when the shop and the ERP share a backend.
